Programs
reFrame: Stories of Home, Self, and Belonging
A deeply personal program exploring memory, identity, migration, place, and belonging through music by Katahj Copley, Nadia Boulanger, Amy Beach, Paule Maurice, and Nicky Sohn.
The program shares its title and repertoire with Duo HaLo’s newest album, reFrame: Stories of Home, Self, and Belonging, released by Azure Sky Records in October 2026.
Imaginary Folksongs
Music inspired by folk traditions, cultural memory, storytelling, and musical reinvention.
Featuring works by Stephen Lias, Florence Price, Lori Laitman, Ryota Ishikawa, and Jennifer Jolley, Imaginary Folksongs combines lyrical storytelling with vibrant contemporary chamber music.
The program is featured on Duo HaLo’s debut album, Imaginary Folksongs, released by Azure Sky Records in 2025.
The Romantic Saxophone
A program placing the saxophone within the expressive world of 19th- and early 20th-century Romantic chamber music.

Through transcriptions and original repertoire, The Romantic Saxophone highlights the instrument’s lyrical, vocal, and string-like qualities.
Duo HaLo can also develop customized programs and educational components to complement a presenter’s season, community, or academic setting.

Duo HaLo is available for performances and educational residencies at colleges, universities, conservatories, and schools.
Engagements can be tailored to the needs of each institution and may include:

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Duo HaLo is a compact acoustic ensemble with minimal technical requirements.
For most recital engagements, presenters should provide:
• A well-maintained and recently tuned acoustic piano
• Piano bench
• Music Stand
• Dressing room or secure backstage area when available
Amplification is generally not required in traditional recital halls and intimate performance spaces. For outdoor performances, unusually large venues, or events requiring sound reinforcement, Duo HaLo is happy to coordinate with the presenter or venue’s technical staff in advance.
Specific piano, stage, rehearsal, and technical needs can be confirmed directly with the presenter for each engagement.
